9:00 am – Nancy Thym: Introduction to Harp Accompaniment for Medieval Song (Workshop – download and print out handouts in advance)

12:30 pm – Nancy Thym: King Orfeo – tale based on a medieval lai (Concert with storytelling, harp & voice)

 

Tuesday, June 16

9:00 am – Nancy Thym: The Technique of the Itinerant Hook Harp Players (Harfenmädchen) of Bohemia and Germany (Presentation)

Listening Room (flexible time) Works for harp in large ensembles. (Listen to some or all of the pieces. Performers will be at our reception Thursday at noon.)

 

Wednesday, June 17

9:00 am – Paul Knoke: Virtual Tour of the Knoke Harp Collection (Presentation: watch videos ahead of time, then come to the 9:00 am session for Q&A)

10:30 am – Jan Walters: Reflections on Breathing New Life into Forgotten Harp Music through Recordings and Film (Presentation: watch the videos before the session if possible)

 

Thursday, June 18

9:00 am – Maxine Eilander and Stephen Stubbs: The Baroque Harp: Solo and Continuo (Presentation: watch the videos before the session if possible)

Virtual Concert (flexible time) For best results, listen to some or all of the pieces in advance of the reception at noon Thursday. Performers will be at the reception.

12:00 noon – Virtual Reception with HHS active members and performers.
